Our Honorary Team Members Jessica & Chelsea, always present to cheer us on! They were as much a part of the team as anyone else. (This photo doesn't look quite like I remembered it! I modified it a bit. Here's the original.)

In the Parade! We were the team yelling out, "Wong! Wong! Wong!" Those who saw us in the parade in Chinatown the week before should remember us.

Day Two: Sunday July 27th, 1997

After a less than spectacular start, the 1997 Wong Wun Sun team was 5th (out of 6 boats) after the first third of the race. Still, the team recovered in the last 2/3 of the race to claim 1st by a commanding one boat-length over the other teams. We came in a very close 4th in the Finals. Forth out of over 30 teams in the mixed category.. for a team that was thrown together a little over a month & a half before.
