Directions from Montreal:

  1. First things first, find your way to Mercier Bridge (Route 138 west).
  2. Once you are on the Mercier Bridge, the key words are : Stay on the RIGHT The right lane will keep you on the correct side of the bridge when the bridge splits into two directions, east to Laprairie and west to Châteauguay. You want to go west, so stay in the right lane always. The overhead sign will show "Route 138 Ouest, Châteauguay, Salaberry-de-Valleyfield". This is the correct lane for you.
  3. After the bridge ends, take your first right (600 metres past the end of the bridge). This is an exit to Route 207; continue to the stop sign (about another 100 metres).
  4. At the stop sign, take another right (Chemin St-Isidore on the map). From the stop sign it is only another 1.6 kilometers, all straight going, no turns. Once you are on the straight section, you will pass 5 stop signs in all (0.8 km, 1.0 km, 1.2 km, 1.3 km and finally 1.6 km total)
  5. At the fifth stop sign, you cannot go any further because it is a "T" intersection.
  6. Look 50 metres to your left and there is the Onake Canoe Club, a yellow building. You have arrived. Parking is usually to the right of the Club.

Directions from South Shore - Highway 132:

  1. Follow the Highway 132 through Candiac, Delson, and Ste. Catherine.
  2. Continue on Hwy 132 and you will reach the on-ramp to Pont Mercier. After the last traffic light, exit Right.
  3. You will go under the bridge. Continue under to the down-ramp and stay in the merge lane which you will quickly exit.
  4. At the stop sign, take another right (Chemin St-Isidore on the map). From the stop sign it is only another 1.6 kilometers, all straight going, no turns. Once you are on the straight section, you will pass 5 stop signs in all (0.8 km, 1.0 km, 1.2 km, 1.3 km and finally 1.6 km total)

There should be signs indicating ONAKE DRAGONBOAT, but if you are really lost and need to ask directions, Onake is pronounced Oh-naw-gay.
