WONG’S DRAGON BOAT CLUB DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM
MISSION STATEMENT:
To promote and develop interest in the sport of dragon boat racing to the best of our ability through team work, honour, respect, commitment, enthusiasm and fun.
WDBC SYSTEM OF DEVELOPMENT:
- Ultimately develop paddlers to represent the Wong’s Dragon Boat Club at the International Club Crew Level through defined systematic programs.
- Individuals who join the club will be placed in programs best suited for their commitment, development, fitness and experience
- Movement between programs can occur at any point of the season for reasons listed below
- Individuals may be asked to move up to a higher level within the system if they have met higher standards and are ready for the next level of development. The member has the right “NOT” to accept a promotion and remain in their current Program.
- Individuals may be asked to move to a lower program level if they cannot meet the standards and commitment required from their current program.
- All are encouraged to strive to improve and achieve higher goals throughout the system.
Please note these are very general guidelines on what we hope to achieve. Our priority is to develop individuals to represent the WDBC at the highest level and offer everyone opportunities for growth. We as a club must offer avenues that cater to the capabilities and needs of our members.
